Race Day FAQ's
FOR HEARTLAND HALF MARATHON, 5K, & TEAM CHALLENGE
Where can I pick up my race packet?
Downtown Fitness & Running the week leading up to the race.
Friday night and race day pick up location TBD.
Can someone else pick up my race packet?
If you need someone else to pick up your packet, please send an email with your name and the name of the person who will be picking up the packet for you to info@visitduboiscounty.com. If we do not receive your email, we will not allow anyone to pick up your packet. Phone requests regarding packet pick-up cannot be accepted.
Where do I pin my race number?
Pin race number on the front of your shirt or shorts so that your bib can be read by our announcer.
When should I arrive at the start?
Please arrive at the Huntingburg's Historic 4th Street in front of Current Blend at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the race.
Where do I park on race day at the start?
Parking is allowed throughout the City of Huntingburg on the streets or in various parking lots that day.
Will there be a Bag Drop?
We will have a location that you can leave your bag if needed before the race near the finish line.
Race Day Information
Half Marathon, 5K and Team Challenge start
The half marathon and Team Challenge will start at 7:30 am (ET). The 5K will begin at 8:00 am (ET). Races will finish at the same location.
Are drinks and food available on the course?
Six water stations will be located approximately every two miles throughout the course. Refreshments will be available for the Heartland Half Marathon-5K runners and volunteers only. Please have your bib or volunteer shirt visible to receive food.
What if I have to go to the bathroom during the race?
Portable toilets are available near where the race begins, along the course, and at the finish.
Where is the best place for people to watch the race?
The course is laid out so that one can travel the City of Huntingburg easily from one location to another. The finish line will be in the Market Street Park area, which is a great location to cheer on the runners as they are finishing their race.
What if I get hurt or cannot finish the race?
Safety is our main concern, so please use caution at all times. We will have volunteers throughout the course to assist runners that may need help during the race or afterward.
Does everyone running receive a medal?
We will be giving medals only to every half marathon finisher as they cross the finish line.
The 5K finishers that place in their age group will receive an award.
Post-Race
Is food available at the finish?
Yes, food is available for participants at the finish of the half marathon race. Please have bib or volunteer shirt visible to receive food.
Will there be transportation provided for runners?
No, you will be able to park close enough to the start line that you should not need any additional transportation before or after the race.
Where can I get my results after the race?
Race results will be available on our website (www.heartlandhalfmarathon.com) following the race.
When will the Awards for the top finishers be given out?
We plan on presenting the 5K awards at 9:00 am, and the half marathon awards at approximately 10:30 am. However, this schedule is subject to change.
